Make your own organic bread in a Wimborne bakery using wood-fired ovens

Jamie Campbell, founder of Famous Hedgehog Bakery in Wimborne, runs this unique bread making course in which you will learn all about both sourdough and yeast based breads. The bakery is using wood-fired ovens and the course will help you in learning the skills of mixing, kneeding, moulding, shaping and baking through a full day experience. You will get a good understanding of sourdough, including how to prepare a culture and care for it, and certainly you will take lots of bread home at the end of the day!

Founders Jamie and Rose Campbell moved to the small village of Wimborne two decades ago when they purchased an old stable block. Having been unable to buy real bread locally, they decided to build their own bakery and supply the local villages with organic, fresh bread. They remain a family business, proud of their beginnings and the original ideas are still very important today – organic, handmade and wood-fired.

The bread making course day starts at 10.30am and usually finishes about 4.30pm. The bakery provides all refreshments and you will make your own delicious lunch with a wood-fired, pizza type dough. From £145 per person.
