About the Cerne Giant
The giant is an ancient naked figure sculpted into the chalk hillside above Cerne Abbas, the village that lies in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Access to the giant is restricted but there is a picnic area a short walk away from the viewing point at the car park, which is suitable for coaches. Parking is free and has one designated accessible parking space.
About the New Inn
The picturesque village of Cerne Abbas is a gentle quarter of a mile walk from the Cerne Giant viewing area. The New Inn, a 16th century former coaching inn is an iconic building located in the heart of the pretty village. The New Inn offers rooms and has a bar and restaurant.
The New Inn has twelve lovely refurbished bedrooms, four above the main pub and a further eight in the newly converted stable block. All rooms are en-suite with a bathtub and shower.

The Inn is child friendly with having dedicated kids area and children’s menu and highchairs. There is one family room which comprises of a double and single bed and there are rooms that have sofa beds. Two of the rooms are interconnecting for that comfortable family stay.
There is one special access room, Tadonal, which is wheelchair friendly with level access wet room. The restaurant and bar both are wheelchair accessible with disabled toilet facilities. Accessible parking space is also available for less mobile guests. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
Food and drink
As well as great food, a wide selection of wines from around the world is offered and of course 3 local cask ales brewed by Palmers are available. Food includes sandwiches, Portland crab cake, Dorset cured meat & cheese board, New Inn burger, fish & chips, smoked haddock, trio of duck to name a few.
